Call for Papers IEEE 17th Signal Processing and Communications Applications Conference (SIU-2009) will be held in Antalya (Silence Beach Resort Hotel), Turkey on April 9-11, 2009. The conference will be organized by the University of Kocaeli with the support of IEEE. The conference is the most important meeting forum for researchers in Turkey in the area of signal processing and communications and related topics. Conference proceedings have been indexed by IEEEXplore since 2003. SIU2009 Conference will be an important opportunity for presentation of state of the art scientific and technological research and development and for establishing new projects and partnerships as well as meeting people working in these topics. Presenters must prepare Turkish papers with a limit of four pages according to the paper preparation rules in PDF format, and then upload them to the SIU-2009 servers via the SIU-2009 web page. |

Special Sessions Oral and poster sessions in the following topics will take place. We expect to have proposals about special sessions regarding industry − university collaborations. The deadline for sending proposals for special sessions is December 1st , 2008. Proposals should be sent to siu2009@kocaeli.edu.tr It is planned to arrange special sessions under the scope of the conference in this years SIU. The target of special sessions is to meet people who work in the same area of interest. |

Student awards The best student paper that is chosen by the award committee will be awarded a “IEEE best student paper award” in SIU 2009. A student paper in the area of artificial vision and/or pattern recognition and similar topics will be awarded the “Alper Atalay best student paper award”.
